Having previously collaborated with the renowned Jane Goodall on his remarkable 2002 creation, "Jane Goodall's Wild Chimpanzees," this film, titled "Jane Goodall - Reasons for Hope," marks Lickley's seventh venture into the realm of giant-screen filmmaking. Expressing his thoughts on this matter, Lickley recollects, "So I went to her in 2010, and I said, 'I've been reading your books, Jane. What do you think about doing a sequel, but we'll do it about hope? And we'll do it not just about chimps, but about other things.'"
